Nile Ranger open to Newcastle United exit

It is likely Nile Ranger will have to seek out a fresh opportunity

Nile Ranger is likely to move on from Newcastle United after seeing manager Alan Pardew bring in fresh striking talent.

Newcastle have signed Demba Ba and are also rumoured to be on the trail of Reading’s Shaun Long.

Ranger was handed opportunities by Newcastle last term and showed flashes of quality, but he has fallen behind the likes of Shola Ameobi and Leon Best. And with fresh blood recruited and more on the way, his chance may be limited.

“Newcastle have signed a striker and they’ll sign another one, so Nile won’t start many games next season,” Ranger’s agent Nick Rubery told The Sun.

“He needs to play to help his development. If the right club comes along, he’ll be interested.”
